Inspiration
Great blue herons are the largest birds found on Theodore Roosevelt Island. Their hunting and preening antics provide us with many hours of fascinating views. We’ve watched them so much that we can be camera-ready to anticipate when one of these birds will strike prey, squawk at an overhead airplane, or stretch its wings to suddenly fly.
