About Me
I was born in Durban, a South African harbor city on the Indian Ocean. South Africa is a bittersweet country where exquisite landscapes, unspoiled wilderness, and diverse, colorful cultures provide a backdrop to a painful political history. As an immigrant, American citizen, and now part of an Italian American family, the vibrant heart-beat of Africa still runs through my blood, merging with American influences. These experiences are revealed in my sculptures which seek to portray our inextricable intertwining; those universal connections between all people, places, creatures, plants, and natural elements. My birthplace and life journey guides my conscience and is the inspiration and touchstone for my thoughts and creative actions.
